Netsilik School in Taloyoak, Nunavut, Canada, serves a population of about 300 students from Kindergarten up to grade 12, as well as a preschool program funded by Aboriginal Headstart Canada, which has approximately 40 students. The school was built in the 1970s. Up to grade 3, the preschool program provides Inuktitut immersion and a 60/40% Inuktitut/English program in the higher grades. Netsilik School is the primary educational institution in Taloyoak. However, there is also an adult Community Learning Centre administered by Nunavut Arctic College.
Netsilik School learners are always eager to participate in building, art, movement, and creativity sessions. Unfortunately, most schools in Nunavut have a limited number of rooms where they can host video conference sessions. Space can be limited, but accommodations can be made with enough notice.
